
I'm Angela.
I started my first business almost 10 years ago, a women’s clothing and accessories boutique with the (yes, unapologetically cheeky) name Thongin’ It Boutique. Half my sales came from my website, half from pop-ups and markets. But here’s the thing: I didn’t actually care about selling clothes. What lit me up was building my brand, writing copy, perfecting the website and inspiring others. That’s when my next business, Hot Mess Consulting, was born (my branding and website design agency).
Fast forward: my team and I have helped thousands of boutique owners nail their Shopify sites and branding. And now? Why me, specifically?
I get it. I give a shit. I have been there. I truly want to help. No BS. No sugar coating.
Hot Mess was not always well oiled. When we hit our first six figure month, we were actually in the negative after expenses. And it was not from a bloated ad budget.
Even with a team of 20, the work never stopped. We were always behind. I was clocking 50 to 80 hours a week, putting out fires, managing reputation, running on fumes. And I hated it. I was miserable. I was drinking most nights, eating garbage, and at my highest weight ever. My self-care game was nonexistent because I had no time or energy left.
This was not the business I wanted. And I was not serving my team or clients by running it this way.
It took a great consultant, sweat, tears, nausea, and a lot of change to turn things around. Within a year, I stripped my team down to 10, the right 10. I rebuilt our processes, created dashboards to track margins, timelines, and other key metrics. I cut revenue and expenses, but increased profit.
And let’s be honest. What matters more? Top line revenue, or the money you and your business actually gets to keep?
The best part? I finally had space for myself. I shut off all work apps and social media for a month while I did a vegan, yoga, and mental health retreat in Mexico. Not long after, I worked a couple hours a week from my phone while trekking the Camino de Santiago in Spain. Full transparency, I only made it 200 miles out of 500, but that is still pretty damn good.
So, now I help other business owners overhaul their operations. Because I have the time. Because I have the experience. And because I know what it is like to be on both sides. And this is why I am selective. It has to be the right fit for me. AND I have to know I can rock your world.
